Global Lithium Producer – Daily Production Reporting
Production data for an Australian Lithium mining and processing facility was available across numerous different systems and spreadsheets. The company wanted to create a series of Executive and Production dashboards to track production and mining against the budget and plan. Dashboards needed to show information such as:
Production and mining volume vs. plan
Production vs. budget year to date, quarter to date and month to date
Strip and recovery ratios
Differences between plan and actual based on feed grades, utilisation and throughout
Power BI development and implementation required liaison across numerous stakeholders, including the IT Manager, Production Manager, Chemical Engineers, and IT and Database Developers. Each had different requirements (and views of how results are calculated) and so stakeholder engagement was critical to the project’s success.
In parallel to Power BI development, Gemcutter worked with the company’s IT team to migrate planning and daily tracking sheets into an App-based solution.
The result was a suite of Production, Executive and Quality Power BI reports that are used daily from the Executive Team to Chemical Engineers and Production Managers.
